Valentines Day

This post is REALLY late, but I want to remember what a fun Valentine's Day we had as a family of 5!  I made the girls matching Valentine heart shirts....and Emery is the only one who would wear hers!  Oh well, go figure...maybe next time:
It is interesting trying to juggle Valentine parties and feeding a new baby (well a 3 month old baby:)  First, I fed her and we raced out the door to Avery's class party...we made it just in time to finish a bingo game and do a little "pin the lips on the heart poster". Ave loved that we came and loved showing off her little sister.  We had fun watching her have fun with her class!

We grabbed some Valentine snacks to go so we could make it just in time for the end of Kyndall's party:

She was a great sport about us being late...She let Avery play a little bingo with her and then we watched her play "hot potato" with a heart and we all left just in time for me to get home and feed Emery again!  hah! Story of our lives right now....rush to get from one place to another and back in time to feed Emery.  Thank goodness for sweet and flexible big sisters who are IN LOVE with their little baby sister:)

As you know, my big girls and I LOVE to do crafts...so we decided to break out the ole Silhouette Cameo to make our Valentine cards this year:

Here were the supplies we bought:

I bought the strawberry box design and sized it down a little...Then, I figured out how to "print and cut" a little Valentine message, "You are "berry" sweet Valentine.  We put a strawberry candy in the middle and the girls helped me "stuff and tie" them.....They also signed their names on the back of the tag....Avery just signed "A" but she is just learning how to write her name:

We all had fun making them together and they turned out pretty cute!  Wow, it is going to be a lot of work when all 3 have Valentines to make:)  The day before Valentines Day, Jim's Aunt Sally and Aunt Peg and Uncle Bud came over for a visit with Grandpa.  We love when they come into town, and really enjoyed the time we spent with them.  Aunt Sal and Aunt Peg both helped us make some of the Valentines...thank goodness for the extra help from our "extra special" Aunts!  We love you and so glad you could come visit and meet baby Emery!!!

I wish I had gotten a good pic of all the girls with them, Bud and Grandpa...I think Grandpa did, so I'll see if I can get one up on the blog soon!!

One little brag on my husband too.....he brought all of his girls (including me) some beautiful roses, and we gave the girls some heart locket necklaces and a heart box of candy.  I love Valentine's Day, I always have, even when I didn't have a Valentine.  The best Valentine Days have been the ones with Jim and now with our girls as well.  Sometimes a day reminding you to show your love to others is a great way to celebrate your family and blessings.  I am glad we have another year until the next one, though....we need time to plan our crafty Valentine cards for next year:)

Little Flag Holder

Avery had Donuts with Daddy this month and got to hold the flag during Chapel....Jim got to stay and watch:)  Too cute!!!  Here she is holding the flag for all of the Preschool and parents to say the pledge:

The theme of Donuts with Daddy was American Idol and she made him a guitar, a picture of her, and a placemat where she answered questions about him!

We aren't sure what "Mommy Beans" are,  but it cracked us up!!

Avery is 4!

Wow, what a whirlwind!!  I can't believe that Avery is actually 4 years old!  It happened so fast...one day she was my tiny baby and now she is a confident, funny, smart, and beautiful 4 year old!  She LOVES her sisters so much, and she is a Mommy's girl:)  She has a best friend named Sara Paige and I have never seen 2 girls as close as they are.  She wanted a monkey birthday party so we got some fabulous printables from Dimple Prints (click to link up and see all they have to offer) and had a party for her friends at Pump it up and a family party at home.  I didn't get everyone who attended both parties in the pics, but Avery enjoyed everyone and we are so thankful for those who could come celebrate with us!!!

Here is the Pump it up party with our sweet hostess Lauren:

Here are the youngest guests at the party!

Pick Your Plum!!

My friend, Janette, asked me if I wanted to do a crafty Challenge this past week, and how could I resist?  She has introduced me to this website called:  Pick Your Plum  ( you can also check out their FB page or they are also on Pinterest.  It is SOOOOO much fun. Every day they have a different fun deal.  Sometimes it is craft supplies for cheap, sometimes it is jewelry, personalized stamps, ribbon, or even scarves/headbands.  The list is endless of the fun they have to offer.  Only, you have to register or you might miss out on the deal!  They send an email as soon as they post the "deal of the day" and only have a limited quantity.  I want to buy stuff almost everyday!!!

So, back to the challenge...Janette sent me a board to do anything I want with.   I had the perfect thing in mind...so during nap time I grabbed my paint and brush and went to town:

You see, I have been wanting to make a bow holder for my girls.  They have TONS of bows and they are all over this house...it is CRAZY.  So I got my inspiration from these little Daddy's girls:

And grabbed my new Sillhouette Cameo machine and went to town.  I got some sassy houndstooth scrapbooking paper and cut out a fun shape, then took some hot pink Vinyl and cut out the word Diva and a bunch of polka dots.  Then I mod podged the scrapbook shape onto the block and added the vinyl after it all dried.  Finally, I took some hot pink tulle and stapled it on the top 2 corners of the piece and tied it in a bow at the top to hang, and stapled 3 strands of tulle on the bottom to attach bows.....and viola:

Now, you may think that there are not that many bows, and you are right...later that day I found about 15 more around the house....It has been so nice having all of them together and a super sassy way to keep them that way!  The girls LOVE it.  They think it is so fun to get their own bows and put them away.  I am linking up with The Johanson Journey "Show us your Plum" challenge with Janette and Ashley.  I am now going to go to Pick your Plum's website and see what their deal is for today...you should too!!!

Go check out what the other Show us your Plum crafters did!!!
