Easter Smock

I made Avery a little Easter smock for fun! Here are some pics of her in her new smock ... and a sweet pic of her and her big sister!
Always on the move...here she is walking in it!
Here is the back of the smock...I am trying to make some ruffle bloomers to go with it for the warmer weather...how fun would that be!
I love this pic of my girls...so sweet...they love each other

Our little Artist

I ran to Hobby Lobby today to shop around a little and walked by the kiddie craft area. Kyndall saw the paints and just kept saying, "Mommy I want that for my birthday". It was so cute. I have been putting off actual paints for awhile...I just didn't think she was ready, but I decided to get her a Diego paint book that included paints. She had such a blast. She only painted on her pictures and she really did a great job (I was afraid she might try to paint the table, walls, etc like she has attempted to do with her crayons)! There is something about crayons that is too much for her...she just can't seem to stop herself from "decorating our walls" even though she says all the time"I only color on paper". So that is why I was a little worried about the paints...but she was so good! Here are some pics of our little artist!
I couldn't even get her to look up and smile...she just kept painting and saying"cheese"!!
This was Kyndall getting her brush ready for a new color....She LOVED painting...

I couldn't resist taking a pic of Avery snacking and watching her sister...I came over and said, "Hi Avery and she looked up, saw the camera and smiled! She is a natural model:)

Kyndall's Bibile Verse

I have been working with Kyndall on trying to memorize some bible verses recently. This last week in BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) the verse was pretty short and easy. She learned it really fast. I wanted to share this video of her saying: "Trust in the Lord Forever" she did great! I don't know if you can see on her shirt, but she gets a sticker each time she recites it (even if she is just repeating me saying it) She had about 5 tonight!!

Still in progress...but....

I thought I would post a pic of the infamous curtains that Kyndall got scissor happy with in an earlier post. You can't tell at all! Thank goodness because I went to the fabric store and could not find this fabric anywhere! The curtains are only halfway finished so I will post another pic when I finish the valance thing I am making for the top! oh...and yes that is turqouis on the wall next to the curtains...we are going to paint in the dining room and on a whim I bought a pint of this color (which totally looked different on the card) and painted a little on the wall next to the curtains...not Jim's favorite color!! I didn't like it either...any color suggestions would be welcome!

Little Sneak

Tonight was "Mom's night out" in my Mothers of Preschoolers(mops) group. It was a relaxing get together where we made mosaic decorated art. I made an ornament..you could make crosses, decorate different shapes, mirrors, etc. So Jim came home from work ready to take care of our sweet little girls. Well I am making some draperies for our dining room. I had picked out just the right fabric and was working on them today when I had a few minutes here and there. I had left them on the dining room table along with my scissors. Here is where my story gets interesting. Jim took the trash out to the garage and came back in to Kyndall putting tape on my drapery fabric. He walked over to see a jaggedy cut right smack in the middle of one of the panels I was working on. Not to fear, according to Kyndall tape fixes everything! Little sneak ran and found the tape (after the temptation of cutting my fabric took over her) and she realized that she might be in trouble. So Jim proceeds to call me as I am about to sit down to a nice little art project and let me know what happened....after he lets me go Kyndall looks at him and says, "What did Mommy say?" Now how can you get upset at that? Funny little 2 year old:) Don't worry, she didn't get into too much trouble...Jim just asked her if she knew what she did was wrong and she said, "uh huh" and he told her that she shouldn't cut Mommy's fabric anymore. And I have learned to put away my scissors (in a good hiding space) and thank God all she tried to cut was my fabric and not hair or clothing or herself:) Enjoy the funny pic of her "taped up fabric"!!
This is my beautiful fabric that I was making draperies out of for our dining room. Before the cutting incident:
This is what I came home to find....pretty resourceful huh?

The Park

Kyndall, Avery and I went to the park today with a couple of my new friends from my Mother's of Preschoolers (MOPS) group. They played on the playground and then we all took some bread down by the little pond and fed the birds. Kyndall had such a blast, and Avery had fun just talking to the birds and trying to touch them. It was such a fun time that Kyndall didn't want to leave. Hopefully we'll make it back there before long!
Kyndall just loved that little weenie dog and would go over and ask if she could please pet her dog!
Avery wanted to go out and feed those birds so bad!

Avery was "chatting" with a new feathered friend...

Kyndall was feeding the birds/ducks/geese with a new friend!

Come and get it birdies!

All the bread is gone......
