Oh Avery!!!

Jim and I have been talking about putting Avery in her "big girl bed" for a couple of weeks now. I asked him to pull the bed out so we could let her get familiar with it (I am having a hard time letting this little one grow up). She saw it immediately when we came to her room to get her ready for bed. She said, "I sleep that one, Mommy". I got all excited and said "Okay Ave, sounds good, what a big girl you are! You have to stay in bed though and go Night-Night". Avery, "Otay Mommy". So she explored her new bed filled with her favorite stuffies, pillow, and blanket:
Then Kyndall joined in on the fun!
So Kyndall and I read her a little book before bed. She laid down nicely, pretty pumped about sleeping in the bed. I went straight downstairs and checked the moniter to hear her saying, "Mommy, Daddy...." but not completely crying. When Jim went upstairs with Kyndall's beloved bedtime doll, he caught Avery tip-toeing down the hall toward the stairs!! So he took her back in and laid down with her a bit. He came back downstairs about 5 minutes later we hear the door open and shut, little feet scamper, a knock knock, then a quiet whispered, "Sister" (knock, knock) "Sister"...then I went up the stairs so she wouldn't wake up Kyndall!!!
And this is where she ended up sleeping!! I KNEW she wasn't quite ready yet...my sweet little baby:)
Oh Avery!!

Crafty girls

Grammie is so sweet to send us letters in the mail pretty often! In the letters, she always sends Kyndall and Avery some stickers to play with...and they LOVE them!! Kyndall loves them so much that if it has been awhile she will say, "When's Grammie going to send us some more stickers?". Here is what happens when we get them:
What fun!

Kyndall got her stickers and got right to work...I think it is a masterpiece!!

No stickers, but she is pretty proud! Her stickers went on her hands, the table, and on her sister's picture!!

Yay for Mother's Day!!

Wow! Mother's Day...what a great idea whoever thought of it!! SO- MUCH- FUN to be pampered and taken care of (if you are lucky like me and married a super sweet husband, and have super sweet kiddos) for a whole day! I got to sleep in late, pick my brunch location (Cheesecake Factory), open one of the most thoughtful gifts ever (see pics below), be told Happy Mother's Day by 2 sweet girls ALL DAY LONG, and of course, have a sweet handmade card by little loves. I didn't get to spend Mother's Day with my Mother and Grandmothers, which would have been nice, but I did get to send them gifts and talk to them on the phone. I love them so much and wish I could do for them all that they have done for me, but all I can do is let them know that they mean the world to me, and I am so blessed to be able to call them Mom, Grammie, and Grammy! Here are some pics to let you know how Mother's Day weekend went around here:
I went all Martha Stewart and made a pillow with Kyndall and Avery's handprints and embroidered a message for Grammie (Mom's mom) and my Mom, and made a theraputic peppermint neck wrap (with flax seed in it...just warm it in the microwave for 30 seconds and...voila...warm and comfy) for Grammy (Dad's Mom) with handprints like the girls are hugging her when she uses it!! They got these on Friday:
On Saturday, Kyndall and Avery each gave me a bouquet of roses...Kyndall got red and Avery pink...so we mixed them up and displayed them on the dining table so everyone could see!!

Wow!! Jim...ahem the girls...outdid themselves this year. This is a 250 page book of blogposts I have made from when I started the blog in 07 to this past Christmas of 09. WOW is all I can say, what a wonderful and thoughtful gift. Just browsing through it made me smile and enjoy the fact that I have a whole book all about them to go back and read and enjoy!!!
Just a peek of the inside:

Brunch at The Cheesecake Factory!! Yummy!! And how precious is this pic of Jim and Avery!!
Me with the sweet little ones that make me a Mother!!
I must say, God has truely blessed me with beautiful, healthy, loving girls and a wonderful husband who all make my life perfect! Thank you for my Happy, Happy Mother's Day! God has also blessed me with wonderful examples of great Mothers in my life, My Mom, Grammie and Grammy, my Mother-in-law, my Mom's friends and my friends. I am so thankful for all these people who I have learned so much from!! Whether you have been in my life for a reason, season, or lifetime you have impacted me in a way that I will remember always!! Happy Mother's Day to all you ladies out there:)

The Family that Builds Together Stays Together

We had a great morning at Lowe's this morning. They have a Kid's Build and Grow on most Saturday mornings for FREE...that's right FREE!! It is super fun. Usually Jim takes Kyndall but I thought it would be fun to include Avery...and she did great too! They get a little Lowe's apron (the first time they come that you can keep and bring back each time they build) and patches to sew on for each project they finish. Kyndall has 6 patches now and wants me to sew them on as soon as she gets home. Avery could care less about the apron or patches, but had a blast making the project and carrying it around the store. Pretty smart of Lowe's if you ask me...we walked around and dropped a few dollars there afterwards!! Click HERE to sign your kid up for next week!!!
Who is ready to start building a schoolhouse???
She is such a hard worker!! I loved watching her and Jim do this together...

Mommy helping Avery
Avery LOVED hammering it herself..."my myself" she would say!!
This was our project:
You go girl!! She did a super job huh!!!
She is pretty proud!
Too cute huh! Yay girls, you did great!!
Cool little carts huh!! This is them being patient while Jim and I get the usual project necessities before we took them to lunch and went home!
On a side note, Avery and Ryan (my good friend Janette's son) really had fun at Chick-fil-a after eating and playing together:)
